Veterinary Nurse

Join an independent, family-owned vet practice with an exciting opportunity for a skilled Vet Nurse.

This practice is looking for someone who is passionate about providing excellent care for animals in a diagnostic first opinion practice.

About Us:

Owned by Rene and Alan, our practice has been operating since 2005, and we have continued to grow year after year, with a loyal client base. We have a modern, fully equipped building that allows us to provide high-quality care in a comfortable environment. The team includes 4 vets, 2 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and 1 VCA, as well as 22 receptionists and 1 practice manager.

Key Duties

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to a wide variety of pets, including surgical nursing, anaesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care.
  • Assist vets with consultations and diagnostic procedures, ensuring smooth operations throughout the day.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update the system as necessary.
  • Offer a compassionate and professional service to clients, ensuring excellent customer care.
  • Undertake laboratory work, radiography, and diagnostic imaging support.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and other veterinary treatments as prescribed by the vet.
  • Support the team with routine procedures, patient management, and maintaining the cleanliness of the practice.
  • Manage inventory and equipment maintenance.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
  • Experience in a veterinary practice, preferably in a first opinion or diagnostic setting.
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a small team and manage time effectively.
  • Compassionate, professional, and customer-focused approach to veterinary nursing.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic imaging, including radiography, under supervision (desirable).
  • Willingness to support the practice with home visits and out-of-hours emergencies (if applicable).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload effectively.
