We are delighted to be working with an established SME Lifescience specialist, looking to identify an experienced and motivated and experienced Sales Specialist with a proven background in blood science diagnostics, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), and related technologies.
The successful candidate will pick up an established territory specialising in Blood Science and Point of Care product initiatives in the South of the UK.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PROVEN EXPERIENCE OF LAB SALES WITH DIRECT BLOOD SCIENCE EXPERIENCE.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of diagnostic assays such as ELISA, chemiluminescent assays, PCR technologies, and a solid understanding of NHS laboratory processes and Point-of-Care (POC) instruments. This role will focus on developing and promoting IVD haematology solutions tailored for both the NHS and private healthcare sectors. The successful candidate will engage with a wide range of specialties within blood science, including specialist haematology, haemostasis, liver disease, and quality control, driving innovation and ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of the market. This individual will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer relationships, and expanding our market presence across the South UK.

Key Duties
- Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and target new business opportunities within NHS laboratories, private laboratories, and diagnostic facilities.
- Promote and sell our range of IVD products including Coagulation tests, ELISA kits, PCR technologies, Lateral Flow Assays and other related in-vitro diagnostic products.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including lab managers, clinicians, procurement teams, and decision-makers within NHS trusts and other healthcare organizations.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions to key customers to showcase the features and benefits of our diagnostic products.
- Account Management:
- Manage existing accounts and ensure high customer satisfaction through regular communication, problem-solving, and follow-up.
- Create account plans tailored to individual customer needs to ensure long-term business retention and growth.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with clients while ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.
- Market & Product Knowledge:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's molecular diagnostics, IVD, and assay portfolio, including ELISA, chemiluminescent, and PCR technologies.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in molecular diagnostics, POC instruments, and the broader IVD market.
- Understand and communicate the regulatory environment, particularly for NHS purchasing and laboratory standards.
- Sales Strategy & Targets:
- Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets as set by the company.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan that aligns with company goals and customer needs.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and marketing initiatives.
- Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Collaborate closely with the marketing and product development teams to ensure the alignment of sales efforts with company product offerings and marketing campaigns.
- Work with internal departments (customer service, logistics, technical support) to ensure smooth delivery and support of sold products.
- Reporting & Forecasting:
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the Sales and Marketing Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system.
Package and Benefits
- £40-55k basic salary Plus 20% (Quarterly)

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements
- Education:
- A degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5+ years of sales experience in molecular diagnostics, IVD, or life sciences industry.
- Strong technical understanding of ELISA assays, chemiluminescent assays, PCR technologies, and immunoassays.
- Proven sales experience working with NHS laboratories, Point of Care instruments, and diagnostics procurement processes.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Ability to build strong relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with a focus on customer needs and market opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Other Requirements:
- Full UK driving license (if based in the UK) or ability to travel as required across the assigned region.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory (up to 70%).
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience selling PCR-based diagnostics, chemiluminescent immunoassays, or related products.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for diagnostics in the NHS and private sector.
- Experience with Point-of-Care testing instruments and relevant clinical applications.
