The opportunity to establish and run an Ophthalmology Referral Service at a State-the-Art Veterinary Hospital in Basildon.

A state-of-the-art hospital based just outside of London are looking to develop the ophthalmology services their provide, with the aim of providing a referral service to practices throughout their area. To achieve this they are looking for a vet surgeon with an ophthalmology bias to join their team of fourteen vets - which includes an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Ophthalmology among varies other certificate holders. You will be provided with all the equipment you would need to excel in the role, with the practice investing extensively in slit lamp biomicroscope, tonovet, panoptic/indirect ophthalmoscope including condensing indirect lenses, gonioscopy lens, Alpha cryosurgery equipment, eye microscope, and canon EOS 600D.

Key Duties

• Initially you will do a mix of first-opinion consults and ophthalmology, but as the service and client base develops you will move into a dedicated ophthalmology role.
• They are open to full- and part-time candidates.
• Full-time equals forty hours, with one in four weekends per week - with time off in lieu.
• No OOHs and no night work as this is provided by a dedicated team.

Package and Benefits

• Salary of £65,000 Depending on Experience
• Uncapped CPD, with Certificates fully funded.
• 5.6 Weeks Holiday (including Bank Holidays), rising to 6.6 weeks after two years.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

• RCVS Registered.
• Ophthalmology Bias.
• Can Sponsor Tier 2 Visas.
