Head Veterinary Nurse

J375237 Watford East of England £35K - £40K / Year

An independent, first-opinion practice with a strong focus on providing high-quality care to small animals and exotics.

As the Head Nurse, you will be responsible for managing the clinical team, assisting with surgery and consultations, and playing a key role in training and coaching student nurses. You will work alongside a supportive team of vets and nurses in a modern, spacious practice, equipped with digital X-rays (including dental), ultrasound, and Class IV laser.

Key Duties

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the nursing team
• Assist in surgeries and consults, providing excellent care to our patients
• Coach and support student veterinary nurses
• Handle administrative tasks and practice management duties
• Work closely with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient work flow
• Maintain the high standard of clinical care we are known for

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
• Experience with small animals and exotics.
• No additional certificates required.
• Full-time position (40 hours per week). Flexibility to work either 4 long days or 5 shorter days.
