Veterinary Nurse

One of the UK's premier independent practices is looking for both experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses and new graduates in Sevenoaks.

With a total of 6 branches, including the main hospital branch which provides 24-hour treatment. They are proud of the excellent care and services they provide. Cases are rarely referred with a team of 7 rotating vets, 3 of whom are present at the practice on a daily basis, many of which are certificate holders. This gives our veterinary nurses the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases and treatments. You will be joining a dynamic group of 7 RVN's and 1 SVN.

With an endless CPD fund and support for certifications, they want to assemble a team of well-rounded RVN's. You are highly encouraged to pursue any special interests you may have in the field of veterinary nursing. You are also encouraged to train and work as a clinical coach.

Our Sevenoaks branch is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their rota of 32 hours per week, spread across 4 days. Nurses are expected to participate in a weekend rota that includes one Saturday morning in four (1 in 4) and nominal back-up cover for weekends and bank holidays.

Key Duties

  • Providing general nursing care for small animals, such as dogs and cats
  • Consultations
  • Performing in-house laboratory diagnostic testing
  • Surgical nursing and, where allowed participating in schedule 3 procedures
  • In-patient care
  • Medication administration in compliance with professional guidelines
  • Anaesthesia administration and monitoring

  • Salary between £24,000 and £31,000 DOE

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
  • Registered as a veterinary nurse with the RCVS
  • Open to applications of newly qualified and experienced nurses
  • Extremely sympathetic to both animals and animal owners
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for effective communication with colleagues and clients
