Small Animal Vet Role, Scarborough

Unique opportunity for a vet seeking a fresh challenge to contribute to a practice improving its clinical standards and patient outcomes, Scarborough.

Based in a beautiful seaside town with easy access to national parks and larger towns/cities you'll have plenty do with your 5 weeks annual leave and bank holidays!

We are currently working with a multi-vet, single-site practice undergoing a period of growth looking to invest in its team and facilities to drive clinical standards forward.

The position would suit an ambitious vet who is seeking a challenge and excited to play a key part in shaping the clinical development of the practice, supporting the ownership in taking the practice to the next level.

You will be highly valued and your ideas/suggestions/opinions on improving the practice will be taken on board.

The practice itself consists of two consult rooms (with plans already in place to add another), separate dental suite, prep, theatre, kennels, reception, staff area.

Equipment includes the usual toys but the practice are incredibly open to investing in new bits of kit and equipment, all ideas and clinical interests are welcome!

Everyone gets on at the practice and there is a friendly atmosphere amongst the team. All the vets have been there for a number of years, a very low staff turnover.

Key Duties

  • A full time role would be for a four day week, however part time hours can be considered.
  • The caseload is mostly routine however if you have a particular clinical interest this would be fully supported in terms of investment in equipment and generating cases.
  • The practice prides itself on offering continuity of care to its patients so they do their own out of hours, however one of the vets loves this type of work so does 50% of the OOH shifts. The rest of the team split the other week on a fair rota basis (1 in 5/6 on the 'on' week).

Package and Benefits

  • Salary £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
  • OOH bonus
  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays (any occasional bank holidays worked are given back in lieu)
  • £1,500 CPD budget including certificate funding
  • Relocation package
  • Professional fees paid
  • Staff discount
  • Confidential wellness/clinical coach available for vets to speak to someone outside of the practice in confidence about clinical or non-clinical matters

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • You should be comfortable with routine first opinion responsibilities, but there is a supportive atmosphere in the practice and everyone looks to help each other when needed.
  • Ideally you will have an ambitious outlook and be keen to support the practice in developing their clinical standards and taking the level of care to the next level. Bringing fresh ideas would be welcome and you will be listened to and be seen as a genuine partner in improving the level of the practice.
  • You must be registered with the RCVS and eligible to work in the UK.
