We are supporting a respected and well established SME Lifescience specialist to identify an experienced and highly motivated Market Development Manager - Oncology to drive the adoption of new oncology diagnostic laboratory test for breast cancer within the NHS and private hospitals.
This role is integral to the success of our clients breast cancer division and the successful candidate will take a key lead in establishing this new product and specialism for the business within the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with breast oncologists, pathologists, and NHS decision-makers to ensure widespread use of our innovative diagnostic test.
PROVEN TRACK RECORD IN ONCOLOGY SALES IN THE HOSPITAL / LAB SETTING IS ESSENTIAL, CANDIDATES WITHOUT 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THIS SPECIALISM WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to drive adoption of our breast cancer diagnostic test across NHS hospitals and healthcare providers.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers and influencers within oncology departments, pathology laboratories, and NHS procurement teams.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with breast oncologists, pathologists, clinical laboratory personnel, and other stakeholders to understand their clinical and technical needs.
- Be the point of contact for clinical inquiries, product discussions, and technical support for healthcare professionals.
- Clinical Evidence Presentation:
- Confidently present clinical evidence and scientific data related to our breast cancer diagnostic test to oncologists, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide in-depth product demonstrations and support clinical evaluations within oncology departments to drive test adoption.
- Technical Expertise:
- Explain and present the underlying PCR technology and scientific mechanisms of the diagnostic test to pathologists, laboratory managers, and technicians.
- Troubleshoot and provide guidance on technical aspects of test implementation, ensuring laboratories can run the diagnostic effectively.
- Training & Education:
- Deliver product training and clinical education to healthcare professionals, laboratory staff, and procurement teams to ensure proper test utilization and promote clinical efficacy.
- Support internal teams and distributors with knowledge-sharing sessions, product workshops, and updates on the latest clinical evidence.
- Market Intelligence & Feedback:
- Gather insights and feedback from the market regarding clinical needs, competitive products, and barriers to adoption.
- Collaborate with the product development and marketing teams to tailor messaging and provide feedback for continuous product improvement.
- NHS Engagement & Procurement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with NHS procurement teams, assisting with the navigation of NHS purchasing processes to ensure product inclusion in key institutions.
- Understand NHS procurement policies and pathways to facilitate seamless sales and adoption.
- Reporting & Forecasting:
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the Sales and Marketing Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system.

- Upto £65k basic Salary Plus 20% bonus

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or similar) is advantageous.
- Proven experience in clinical sales, ideally in oncology, molecular diagnostics, or laboratory testing.
- Strong understanding of breast cancer pathology and clinical practices in oncology.
- Experience working with PCR or molecular diagnostic technologies is highly desirable.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical and technical data into compelling sales messages.
- Ability to engage and influence senior healthcare professionals, including oncologists, pathologists, and NHS decision-makers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude, particularly in discussing molecular diagnostic technologies.
- Proven track record of sales success, meeting or exceeding sales targets in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Other Requirements:
- Full UK driving license (if based in the UK) or ability to travel as required across the assigned region.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory (up to 70%).
