This family run, independent small animal practice is searching for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their fantastic team.

With all of the facilities needed for the highest standard of care for patients, including ultrasound, dental x-ray, digital radiography suite, endoscopy and much more. You will also be working alongside an experienced and friendly team all with diverse range of interests and specialities, making your nursing duties varied and opens up opportunities for career development.

This position can offer a fantastic work-life balance with 30-40 hours a week (3-4 days to include a Tuesday and Friday) and limited Saturday mornings and OOH work. The practice will also offer CPD allowance and actively encourages its staff to develop and progress their skills within the practice.

Successful candidates will be passionate about their work and set a shining example to all branch staff in both the care they take with their patients and their work ethic.


Key Duties

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.00am - 6.30 pm with 1/2 unpaid for lunch
  • Regular weekday off.
  • Out of hours - one, regular night on-call per week (from 6.30pm to 8.00am the following day) plus one weekend in six on-call (Friday 6.30pm - Monday 8.00am).
  • Saturday surgery 9am - 1pm one weekend in six. The same weekend as on-call.
  • To act as a clinical coach for student nurses if applicable.
  • Role is based at our Hexham branch but holiday and sickness cover will be required at our Stocksfield and Bellingham branches.


Package and Benefits

  • Salary from £27,000
  • CPD allowance of £300 per annum
  • Holiday allowance is 4 weeks (20 days) plus bank holidays (pro rata). One extra day is given for each year of service up to a maximum of 5 days for 5 years of service.
