Optometrist role at an independent practice, full time, base salary up to £55,000, plus bonus, in Croydon, South London.

A highly regarded, independent practice in New Addington are looking for a self-assured Optometrist to join their friendly team as soon as possible, due to high levels of patient demand.

Superb facilities including a Phoropter, Octomap and OCT scanner recently refurbished, updated and refitted. Computerised records aid ease and efficiency.

An experienced individual is preferred as sole testing is required. However the highly supportive environment would welcome a confident, newly qualified Optometrist.

It is essential that there is an ability to manage communication confidently, clearly and respectfully. The mixed demographic of patients places emphasis on candidates overall levels of interpersonal skills.

A level of flexibility may be required, as occasional cover may be expected at a nearby stores 1 day per week. Must be happy working Saturdays .

Key Duties

• Sole testing of up to 15 patients per day with flexibility offered for recently qualified candidates and ongoing support via clinical care Whatsapp group in case you need a quick second opinion etc!
• 30 minute test time plus pre-screening to enable high quality patient care
• Occasional cover at surrounding stores to cover holidays etc but only very limited aspect of the role
• 9:30am-6pm with 30 minute lunch break (40hours week)
• Essential Saturday Work and day off provided mid week

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

• A confident, preferably experienced Optometrist but application are welcomes from candidates all levels of experience
• Minor Eye Condition Service Accreditation would be advantageous
