Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon that's tired of the pressures imposed by an increasingly corporatised veterinary sector where independently owned practices are becomes somewhat of a rarity? Maybe you lack clinical freedom because the best course of treatment isn't on your employer's approved list. If so, then we might just have the perfect opportunity for you. Prospect Health are proud to be working with an extremely well established, and most importantly, independent small animal practices in West Yorkshire. Founded over 50 years ago but with plenty of modernisation and investment since, the practice is now a spacious, well-equipped and forward-thinking clinic that practices veterinary medicine without compromise.
The existing team comprises of 7 friendly and supportive vets with experience ranging from 2-20 years and interests ranging from surgery, dermatology and much more. There is also an experienced and dedicated team of RVNs, SVNs and receptionists that allow you as the vet to get on with what you do best, providing a thorough and compassionate service to your patients and their owners. The practice runs out of 2 sites situated just a short drive from one another. Both are similar in size and have the facilities for consulting and operating - you'll have access to soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, digital X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, Electrocautery, Cryosurgery. The practices also have a dedicated Dental suite, Separate dog and cat kennels, Separate isolation and intensive nursing kennels, In-house lab (biochemistry, haematology, endocrinology) and much more.
Having been nominated for pet plan practice of the year the last 2 years on the trot, it's not just us that thinks this is an excellent team to be a part of. There is a real emphasis on employee wellbeing and as a result they regularly arrange team activities outside of work and offer an excellent work life balance. This position is open to both full and part-time with full-time being 2x 8:30am - 4:30pm, 2x 8:30am - 6:30pm and 1x half day, 2-in-7 Saturday mornings and no OOH. There is an excellent package on offer with a salary that truly reflects experience, plenty of support and funding towards CPD (including a certificate), an extra day holiday each year and much more.

Package and Benefits
- Competitive salary £35k - £60k+ in recognition of previous experience
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing each year)

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements
- You must have the right to work in the UK
- You must be registered with the RCVS to practice in the UK
- Ideally you will have a minimum of 1 years post graduate experience in small animal work, although less will be considered including new grads
- You will have a friendly and proactive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team and building rapport with your clients
