Registered Veterinary Nurse Vacancy in Rochester, Kent

Our client is currently on the lookout for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their friendly nursing team. This full-time position entails 40 hours per week, with shift patterns falling between 8am and 6.45pm. Additionally, there will be a rotational Saturday shift every 1 in 4 weeks, from 8am to 4.45pm. Importantly, there are no out-of-hours or bank holiday duties required.

The ideal candidate will possess good general nursing experience and exceptional customer service skills. A friendly and flexible approach, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team, is essential for success in this role.

As an RVN with us, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a variety of procedures alongside our vet team. This includes but is not limited to Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue surgery, and Acupuncture. Moreover, you'll have the chance to work with visiting Specialists in Orthopaedics and Cardiology.

Sole nursing duties may be required on weekends and occasional weekdays, depending on the branch being worked at. We welcome both part-time and full-time applicants who are looking to join a supportive, loyal, and friendly team.

Key Duties

  • Assisting veterinary surgeons in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
  • Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing wound care.
  • Preparing patients and equipment for surgery, and providing post-operative care.
  • Sole nursing at weekends and occasional weekdays, depending on the branch.
  • Performing a variety of procedures alongside the vet team, including Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue surgery, and Acupuncture.
  • Adapting to various branch environments and working effectively with visiting Specialists in Orthopaedics and Cardiology.


Package and Benefits

  • Salary between £26,000 - £30,000 DOE
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holiday and birthday leave

  • Registered on the RCVS as a registered veterinary nurse
