Quick Top Tips for a Psychometric Test
In addition to, and often before, a standard interview, many employers will expect their applicants to take a psychometric test. In fact, it’s believed 75% of the UK Times Top 100 Companies include these type of tests in their recruitment process.
Most use these tests to gain a view of each candidate beyond their work history, seeing their behavioural traits, strengths, weaknesses and motivations instead.
The important thing to remember is that hiring managers include these tests, particularly profiling tests, to check if you’ll fit in well with their business. There is no point in lying, or telling them what you think they want to hear; if you have to do this, the chances are you would not be suited to the job anyway.

1. Think like your potential employer
If you were recruiting for this role, what attributes might you be looking for? Which personality traits would lead to success? 3. Do your research
Try and familiarise yourself with past papers online, or at least with their typical content and format. Familiarity with these kind of questions will train your capacity for problem solving – and will give you a significant advantage when you come to take your actual test.
